Orkas

Orkas is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that works like a small AI team. You give a goal to a lead agent called Commander, and it splits the job into to dos for specialist agents such as a researcher, a content writer, a deck designer, an office assistant and a developer. Results land as real files inside a project: reports, slide decks, spreadsheets, videos and code. Repeated jobs can run on a schedule, for example a weekly brief every Monday morning.

The desktop client is open source under the MIT license, and by default chats, files and memory stay on your computer. You can use the managed models Orkas provides, which run on credits, or connect your own provider keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek and others, in which case calls go straight to that provider. It can also bring in coding agents you already use, such as Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode. The app is free with 500 starter credits, and paid plans add monthly credits, sync across devices, cloud storage and more shared projects.
